It started out writing fanfiction either hidden in empty classrooms or at home when I was sure no-one was looking. Then I figured 'hey, let's give it a proper go and see what happens'. My first self-published book, Abigail and Caurinus: Plague's Beginning, was the result.
There were a number factors that influenced my writing and continue to do so. Currently, it's my avid interest in plague doctors and the history of plagues. Plague doctors are usually depicted as evil or creepy, so I wanted to turn that on its head somewhat.
Dr Edgar Caurinus was a character I created around the costume I wear for my social media platforms and it was just a matter of expanding on him and fleshing him out. I also wanted him to be experienced from the outside by another person, leading to the creation of Abigail Winters. There's a little more to it, but that's the long and short of it.

As you can expect, I'm an avid reader. Terry Pratchett's Discworld has really caught my interest recently, but I've also enjoyed series like Skulduggery Pleasant and the Inheritance cycle, along with novel tie-ins for other properties like Doctor Who and Star Wars.
It won't be surprising to find out that I'm a massive geek in many regards. Video games, movies, TV series, anime and manga, too many to really list here. Highlights are those mentioned above, along with Star Trek, Transformers, Lord of the Rings and much, much more.
I'm also diagnosed with autism, something that influences both my life and my writing. I don't really like to use functioning labels and some days are more difficult than others, but it's part of who I am.

My most active social media are Instagram and TikTok, the latter including both silly dances and expansion for the character of Dr Caurinus. I also have a Tumblr and Facebook page too. Along with book updates will be photos at events I've been to as Caurinus and other costumed characters too.
