So this is the boring, but necessary bit of the website.
I am an independent author. All I’m interested in is writing and engaging with my audience. I have no intention or desire to misuse anybody’s personal information. There is nothing unexpected or nefarious about this website when it comes to privacy and personal data.
Any information given is only ever used for communication and marketing purposes (like updates about my newsletter/blog or in regards to my published works). None of it is shared with any third parties. These services are completely voluntary. You may unsubscribe at any time. If you want any of your data deleted, you can ask at any time. Use the contact form provided at the bottom of the page or email me at dgfitzgerald@outlook.com.
Cookies are also used to provide website services and to track website traffic and usage. Most websites use these and you’ll be notified when you first access the website. You can also change your browser settings regarding cookies and clear your browser of them. Further information is provided in the long version.
You have the right to request any data I have about you that is stored by the website, like if you have left comments or created an account. You can request to have it deleted at any time. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
There are links provided to other websites e.g. Amazon, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. They will have their own privacy policies and I don’t have any control over them. If you’re uncertain about using these third party sites, please familiarise yourself with their policies before continuing.

Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time. This can be done by a link provided at the bottom of any emails. You may ask for all your data to be deleted at any time.
· Giveaways and Contests:
If you enter a giveaway, your name and email is collected. If you win a physical prize, you will be asked to give your name and physical address.
· Non-personal Information
This website may collect non-personal information about visitors when they interact with the site. This information may include the browser name, means of connection to the site, and other non-identifying information. This will be used to track usage and traffic of the website.
You may request for any of your personal data recorded by the website or to have that same personal data deleted at any time. Please fill out the contact form provided to do so.
Security of Personal Data
D.G Fitzgerald will take appropriate technical and organisational precautions to secure your personal data and to prevent its loss, misuse, or alteration.
All information is saved by GoDaddy, who power this website and only D.G. Fitzgerald and GoDaddy website administrators can access them. This website is also protected by security services provided by GoDaddy (e.g. firewall protection, Secure Sockets Layer certificate and Malware scanning). Should a data breach ever occur, subscribers will be notified within 7 days.
Data relating to your enquiries that is sent from your web browser to this site’s web server, or from this site’s web server to your web browser, will be protected using encryption technology. You acknowledge that the transmission of unencrypted data over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee its security.
Sharing of Personal Information
Subscriber information is never shared with a third party. It is only ever used for the purposes mentioned above.

Personal data of children
This website and services are targeted at persons over the age of 16. If I, D.G Fitzgerald, have reason to believe that personal data is being held of a person under that age in the site’s databases, I will delete it.
